This project started out to be my daily driver. Once finished and I started the original 3 cylinder 2 stroke I knew I needed to do an Electric conversion. I used an Azure Dynamics 3 phase AC24 motor and matching DMOC445 controller with regenerative braking. Which accounts for up to 10% of mileage per charge. It is a 200vdc, 100a system which equals 21.5kwh Lithium battery pack. Very easy to maintain and charge. Comes with two chargers. Using one will allow charging to 80% @ 12a charging rate. With two it charges to 100% @ 24a giving it a much faster charge. Can be charged at home or at public charge stations. It has an electrical reverse so changing gears is not necessary.
The vehicle has had a body off restoration effort. All metal parts were sand blasted and either painted or powder coated. Most nuts and bolts were replaced as well. The entire chassis and suspension components were powder coated. The under carriage was undercoated with a bed liner material to help sound proof as well as protect from fender damage as there were no inner fenders. The Ascot Grey paint used was a single stage urethane. This is not a base coat/clear coat car. Many hours went into color sanding to get it to this condition.
